WINTER WEDDING IN MEGEVE, FRENCH ALPS

a chic alpine celeBRATION at le fer à cheval hotel

A snowy wedding in megève

There is something undeniably magical about winter weddings in the Alps.

Clara and Léopold chose Megève for their wedding, a perfect setting for an elegant and intimate celebration in the snow.

We were lucky to have snow lining the streets, enhancing the natural light and creating that signature soft alpine glow.

Winter light in the mountains is incredibly flattering, diffused, subtle, and almost cinematic.

Their ceremony took place in the village church, a timeless and authentic setting that perfectly contrasted with the couple’s modern and fashion-forward aesthetic.

A strong fashion identity

Clara’s bridal look was effortlessly sophisticated, elevated by a bespoke veil designed by a close friend working at Yves Saint Laurent. A meaningful detail that brought a couture touch to her silhouette.

What made this wedding even more special to photograph was how much the guests embraced the mountain chic aesthetic.

Furs, bold winter coats, moon boots : a perfect balance between elegance and alpine attitude. Everyone really leaned into the spirit, and it created a cohesive visual atmosphere throughout the day.

I truly love when guests play along stylistically, it adds depth, rhythm, and a strong editorial feel to the images.

a cosy reception at le fer à cheval

The celebration continued at Le Fer à Cheval, one of the most iconic hotels in Megève.

Inside, the atmosphere was warm and intimate : wood-paneled salons, textured fabrics, soft candlelight, and a refined alpine décor.

The cocktail and dinner felt both relaxed and elegant, exactly what you hope for in a winter wedding.

This part of the day was particularly inspiring for me. I played a lot with both flash and natural light, mixing the ambient glow of candles with more direct lighting to create images that feel both spontaneous and editorial.

why i love winter weddings

Winter weddings offer a completely different creative playground. The light is softer, the energy more intimate, and indoor moments become just as important as outdoor ones.

With Clara and Léopold, everything aligned beautifully :

  • Snow adding texture and brightness
  • A strong, fashion-forward atmosphere
  • A cozy and elegant reception setting
  • And a ceremony rooted in the authenticity of the village

These are the weddings I enjoy the most : where aesthetics, emotion, and atmosphere come together naturally.
